GameKrib.com Official Tournament / Ladder Announcement

GameKrib.com staff and members have come to a mutual decision regarding tournaments and ladders. This decision will allow GameKrib to remain on a path to follow a more social environment rather than a competitive one. There are plenty of options online for gaming competitions but no GOOD options for a gaming social site, which is why we're here. GameKrib is going to pioneer a new direction with a tournament plan. Currently we're able to hold about 3 tournaments a year in which 5-6 people would win a large prize. This put the majority of the community at a huge disadvantage for being able to win let alone participate. Members would have to own the specific console and game just to be eligible for participation with this model. Instead of this model, GameKrib.com is going to focus more on community wide contests. This is exciting news as it removes the limits on participation because we can create contests from a wide variety of ideas and suggestions. Some things to look forward to can be: video contests, banner creation contests, member referral contests, Krib Design contests & much much more!


We will be removing our ladder section completely as we will not be hosting them anymore. Our tournament section will remain up, but will operate as more of a community outreach tool. We will not host our own tournaments, but will host referrals to other communities and websites hosting their own (usually in exchange for a referral banner on their page). We will create an application process which potential communities/websites will have to go through to make sure that tournaments that we refer gamers to meet the same expectations of integrity that you would find at an official GameKrib tournament. While we cannot guarantee actions of the other parties, we feel that this will limit the number of problems that might arise. Our clan section on the site was created primarily for signing up to our tournaments and ladders. These sections will not be going anywhere, however, they will be converted into "groups". Clans are still more than welcome to use GameKrib's group creation tools to function as a base for their members. Later, we will be revamping our Group sections so that you will have more tools to operate and communicate with your members as well as designing your groups to look exactly as you wish (similar to your Krib Designer.)


We do want to thank every member and clan that participated in our past tournaments and ladders. You were a tremendous help to the community and we hope that you had a lot of fun participating.
